about

curveaway:

Apologies for having to erase all the comments prior to mine, but if let as is, my comment would have been added to someone else’s.

Everyone should see this, as someone else said before me and I wholeheartedly agree, but also, we need to do our part, and in this, every little thing we might do could help.

I for one, always inculcated my daughter with the belief that what counts is not how you look , though there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good. But, what truly is primordial is education. This is where the power is for all os us. Knowlkedge is power. And this is why there is a subtle but very serious intent to undermine education and intelligence. One sees this much worse on everything that has to do with females.

As  mothers, we all have the chance. No, the obligation, to teach all our kids not just girls that our value is not just in our physical shell but what we do with our brains, and how we treat others. And to teach this not just with words, but also by example.

There is also all this teen-age oriented tv there. Gossip Girls, and shows like these. Reality tv, all of it. I do my part by not watching. This kind of tv, is not only degrading to most people, but also, meant to dummify those who watch. If all we care about is what brand, label to buy. To think it is normal to fight with everyone, and be proud of it. To sleep around because in doing so we are ‘empowered with our own sexuality. To disrespect our bodies with massive consumption of alcohol or drugs. All the while disregarding our intellect, this, my friends, is an attempt to dummify, period.

Please take a few minutes and watch this. And then THINK about it.
